Cuboree 2010
Posted in : Cubs | October 4, 2010
Well, Cuboree 2010 is over now. We had a spectacular time. It rained, it was cold and muddy, but the activities and food were excellent. The leaders and parent helpers were awesome, and everyone enjoyed themselves.
Clean Up the World Day
Posted in : Uncategorized | September 20, 2010
On the weekend, 3rd Croydon Scouts joined Melbourne Water in a cleanup of waterways around the Croydon Wetlands area. Check out the mountain of rubbish we collected, including 2 shopping trolleys, a fire extinguisher and a car door!
Well done to the scouts and thanks to the parent helpers and men from Melbourne Water. What a great effort in Helping the Environment and providing Community Service. Scouts who joined in will have 3 hours marked off for Community Service and this will also count towards the World Environment Badge.
Lillydale Lake Night Hike
Posted in : Cubs | September 19, 2010
Last Friday night, when all was dark and still, seven brave explorer cub scouts set off on a night hike around Olinda wetlands and Lillydale Lake. Armed with torches and excitement we walked around the tracks, on the lookout for wildlife and adventure. We spotted a possum and some rabbits. We heard the sounds of crickets, frogs and water rushing over rocks. It was a great fun hike. Thanks to all the parents who joined us, it was great to see so many of you on our hike. Thanks to the parent helper for going and getting the well earned snack at the end. Well done to the Cubs, they clocked up some more kilometres toward their Walkabout badges.
Snow Trip
Posted in : Cubs, Joeys | August 3, 2010
Well for those who could not make it we had an awesome day at Mt Donna Buang with toboggans and snowplay, sunshine, snow , cool weather, hot drinks, tobogganing, more snow, hail, snow balls, a long fun walk, more snow, and Mali was finally invested in Cub Scouts. What a day!!! Thanks to the parents who made it, I think all thoroughly enjoyed it!
New Venturer Den
Posted in : Uncategorized | March 26, 2010
Did you know the Venturers have a new improved Venturer Den? Over the holidays a team of volunteers pulled down the wall between the leaders room and the committee meeting room, polished the floorboards, plastered and painted to open up a great new space for our expanding Venturer Unit.
