3rd Croydon Joeys met at the 3rd Ringwood East Scout Hall, to catch the bus with other Maroondah Joey Scouts to the great event. Everyone was so excited.

Once we arrived, it was time to set up our beds, and then get outside for lots of Adventure. First stop Cherry Lane, where we knocked down great big cans with basket balls and played other games.

After lunch it was time for the adventure bases. So many activities from Pirates, Out in the Bush, Science, Space and  Frogs. All that activity certainly built up and appetite, and we had yummy burgers for tea. Then we all rugged up, and walked down to the campfire. We sang some great songs, with our great big Joey voices. After campfire we were all ready for bed, to get a good night sleep before the next day full of adventure.

On Sunday all the Joeys got to try Cub Scouts, at the different bases – Anamalia, Kaa, Peace Rock and the Jungle. It was heaps of fun. Then we ate lunch, and hopped on the bus to go home.

Spy Vs Spy is a patrol competition camp that will be held at                         in                        .

Each Patrol will be assessed and scored on a number of challenges and skills such as   &bsp;  and                 . All points will determine who will take out this year’s Spy Vs Spy competition

At the camp site, each patrols camp site will be set up for them, so that we can concentrate on the       

Throughout the weekend there will be many games with a                                     on Sunday night.

Time will also be spent trying to finish off some badge work for everyone.

Lasseter’s Weekend is a weekend hike organized by Lasseter Rover Crew for the Scouts of the Maroondah District. Scouts hike in Patrols to activity points, or stunts run by the Leaders, Venturers and Rovers, carrying day packs and returning to a central camping area.

The weekend is partially a competition hike, with points awarded at the stunts for completion and teamwork, among other qualities. Prizes are awarded not only for earning the most points over the course of the weekend, but also for best dressed Patrol by our current theme – Mad Scientists and Inventors!

So get those costume ideas flowing, start practicing those awesome hiking skills, and get excited!

• We will camp as a Troop, cooking together and sleeping in large tents.
• Day hiking will be in patrols (max 8 scouts/patrol). The patrols will be a mix of our normal patrol members.
• $25 will cover the cost of entry fees, transport and all food for the weekend.
• To organise this event Lea needs all Permission Forms, Health Forms and Money to me no later than 10th March.

There were 24 activities available during the hike and scouts combined Leadership, Planning, Attitude & Enthusiasm and Overall Achievement to earn activity points at each one. Rory’s patrol (Rory, Jordann, Brad and Connor) earned a Bronze, an exceptional effort from three first timers and a first time PL.  Aiden’s patrol (Adam, Aidan, Ben and Josh), all experienced Scout Hike participants, earned Gold and blitzed their nearest opponents by 500 points.

Well done to both patrols!
