Snow Trip
Posted in : Cubs | August 3, 2010
Well for those who could not make it we had an awesome day at Mt Donna Buang with toboggans and snowplay, sunshine, snow , cool weather, hot drinks, tobogganing, more snow, hail, snow balls, a long fun walk, more snow, and Mali was finally invested in Cub Scouts. What a day!!! Thanks to the parents who made it, I think all thoroughly enjoyed it!
New Venturer Den
Posted in : Venturers | March 26, 2010
Did you know the Venturers have a new improved Venturer Den? Over the holidays a team of volunteers pulled down the wall between the leaders room and the committee meeting room, polished the floorboards, plastered and painted to open up a great new space for our expanding Venturer Unit.

Hope you have a safe and happy Easter!
Make sure to find some time to work on badges over the holidays, and we’ll see you back on the first week of school.
That’s 15 April for Joeys and Cubs, and 16 April for Venturers and Scouts
RIP David Liddell

DAVID LIDDELL, the first Group Leader of 3rd Croydon Scout Group passed away last week. Without David’s valuable work in building the group over 50 years ago, 3rd Croydon wouldn’t be the great group it is today. We offer our condolences to his family.

New Leaders
Posted in : Group | May 14, 2009
Leaders in scouting donate an amazing amount of their time to keep the sections running. It’s a big commitment, but also rewarding for those who take it on. At 3rd Croydon we have a great group of leaders running an exciting programme for our kids, but there’s always room for more people to lighten the load on those already working so hard. We have been fortunate enough to invest not one but THREE new leaders in the last few months, so let’s meet them now :
Congratulations to all of them, and we welcome them warmly into Third Croydon!
Scouts- CFA Visit
Posted in : Scouts | March 29, 2009
Dear Scouts,
On Friday the 3rd April we will be going on a community visit to the CFA in Bayswater. You are to be dropped off and picked up at the CFA at the normal time, 7.30pm–9.30pm.
Please be on time as these people are also volunteers taking time out of their personal lives to show us what they do.
This group of people have been very busy lately fighting fires around our local areas so I’m sure you will have many questions for the men and women fire fighters.
Melway Ref 64 G3
Corner Bayswater Rd & Mountain Hwy, Bayswater.
In front of the Bayswater Hotel and behind the Bayswater Community Centre.
Anyone wishing to do their Fire Awareness Badge should let me know and have lots of questions on the night.
Looking forward to seeing you all there.
Yours in scouting,
Robyn Moore

Wildlife Rescue Donation
Posted in : Group | March 5, 2009
3rd Croydon made a donation of supplies to one of the many groups looking after animals injured in the recent bushfires. Thanks to Scout Leader Anthony for organising and delivering fencing supplies to help out.

They sent us some photos like the ones above, and a note of thanks, below.
Thank you so much for donating to our Wildlife that have been affected by the recent bush fires. It makes a huge difference to see that people care and bother to bring us things that are so useful in helping us with our rescues. I have attached some pictures of some of the wildlife rescued that are still doing well. Once again, many thanks to all of you.
